On May 4 and 5, the project's PhD students took part in the Hack Day "Innovation with AI – Machine Learning in the Humanities", organized by the Academy of Sciences and Literature Mainz.
The event focused on the interdisciplinary exchange of ideas about working with historical sources using methods of artificial intelligence. Participants gained insights into different approaches and discussed challenges as well as possible applications in the field of Digital Humanities.
In addition, smaller groups worked hands-on on concrete questions. During these working sessions, participants developed new solution approaches in small teams and tested various methods directly with practical examples.
