Abstract

The economy is not a static system. It is in motion. Crises, wars and innovations constantly force upheavals. Order does not arise here on its own, but is continuously created anew. Through political decisions, social processes and technological tools. This perspective is central to the long-term project “Financial and Corporate Research from a Long-Term Perspective: Opening Up Historical Holdings of German Financial Market and Corporate Data”, jointly carried out by the Heidelberg Academy of Sciences and Humanities and the Academy of Sciences and Literature in Mainz.
